Originally this building was home of the Canadian Standards Association. This client approached Newco Construction to design and build a building as a testing laboratory facility. The facility needed an office area with lots of natural light and a storage area with a loading dock. Of prime importance was also the need for lots of staff parking. The project was a design/ build/ leaseback agreement between Newco Construction and the client. After two years, Canadian Standards Association closed down their office and Micro Optics took over the lease. The building was further renovated and expanded by Newco Construction to suit the client's needs.
